Description:
The records of the Women's Heritage Trust were deposited in Auckland City Library as a 1990 project.
Historical Notes
The Auckland Women's Heritage Trust was set up as a 1990 project to encourage women to record their personal history. It provided assistance in the form of information and printed forms. Only a few women completed information.
Scope & Contents
The records deposited consist of a few folders of completed forms and additional information. Most significant is a folder of historical materials collated by Connie Purdue about herself and her mother, Miriam Soljak, and their political and family activities. It includes copies of newspaper clippings, correspondence, and photographs dating back to the 1890's. There is also a memoir by Dr Joan Suckling and reminiscences by Irene Maloney.
